- It's a good step. But it's still a *SLOW* cpu by modern standards. Don't
- tell me that it doesn't matter because the OS is leaner and faster - it
- won't help your day-to-day graphics, rendering, spreadsheet, database,
- etc. applications. For those, CPU power is a REAL issue. If you're just
- dragging icons around the workbench all day, sure, you don't need it.

-
- Which card? Presumably the single slot in the new Amiga is a custom slot
- (or possibly an A4000 CPU style slot). How long till we get stuff that
- will fit it?

- I totally agree on this point. Amiga Exec is lean and efficient, and
- memory protection (if it is to be 100% secure) will totally kill the
- leanness and efficiency dead.

-
- I still don't believe it. How many people are working on it? Are they
- working full time? What resources do they have? What is the hardware
- status? What if the third party companies developing the hardware go bust
- before it's finished? All PPC is at the moment is a rumour. Sure, I
- believe some people may be working on it, but until I get some PROOF,
- I'll take any dates they throw at me with a large amount of scepticism.
- And if they rush out the hardware in early 1997 with no PPC software
- available, they won't sell anything (except those developers stupid
- enough to have believed them all along).

-
- Erm... You can turn A500/A600/A1200 and probably every other Amiga into
- tower systems too with third party products. Did AT announce they are
- doing a tower themselves, or are they just saying third party companies
- will be building towers for them (like they have for the other Amigas).
